West Coast Bandcamp Friday Roundup Sept 4th 2026

Forrest Michael

September 4th, 2026

Bobbyy - TACKYY [Self-Released] (L.A.)

Electronic / Hip-Hop / Jazz / Rap

L.A.-based drummer and producer Bobby Gran Felt presents his sophomore album, further fusing his jazz and beat-making proclivities to maximum effect. Following up on his house-minded debut Buckets by straddling hip hop, rap, jungle, and drum and bass from the perspective of a virtuosic percussionist, Bobbyy has enlisted an all-star list of collaborators to aid in achieving his vision including: Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Pink Siifu, Sam Gendel, MNDSGN, and more.

Cash Kru & Tweeleaf - (HVS12) [Heavy Sounds] (Seattle)

Jungle / Drum and Bass

Chopped, sliced, and rearranged breaks rattle along low frequency fault lines for Seattle label Heavy Sounds. Asionyta label operators Cash Kru & Tweeleaf join forces, combining Amiga emulation with modern DAW production, achieving a timeless sounding EP. Vinyl and digital formats available.

Vertebrate V/A Series 02 [Vertebrate] (Portland)

Techno / Leftfield / Experimental / Hypnotic

Portland-based Vertebrate returns with their 9th offering, with all proceeds from the release going towards wildfire conservation efforts in the region. As with the rest of the Vertebrate catalog, the record stands firmly left of center. Textural experimentation eschews conventional structure, with productions equally dynamic yet spacious, driven through thoughtful rhythmic subtlty.

dj_2button - Tonight I’m the Only One Alive (Soundtrack) (Weirdos, Inc. Records) (Vancouver B.C.)

Trip Hop / Ambient / Downtempo

Weirdos, Inc. Records founder Will Hannah aka dj_2button scores the short film "Tonight I'm The Only One Alive" by Vancouver B.C.-based, Brazilian Film Director Bruna Arbex. The movie follows Emerald Berger, Hollywood's latest "it-girl" as she attempts to escape the fame she's gained. When a tabloid digs into an unexposed vulnerability, her dissociation spirals more deeply than intended. Hannan's use of tense ambience and anxious rhythms perfectly capture the descent into induced isolation.

The film screens in Vancouver on October 24th, 2026.

Eli Muro - Final Wishes [Self-Released] (Vancouver B.C.)

Breakbeat / Bass Music / Dub Techno

Unclassifiable and mystifying, Vancouver B.C.'s Eli Muro presents 3 tracks years in the making, refining disparate influences into cohesive and organic compositions that defy genre. Breaks grooving like natural rhythms - beats like insects' wings, melodies like songbirds, woven tightly together, pupating forms all their own.

Flittie - Guardienne [Self-Released] (Seattle)

Experimental Pop / Trip Hop / Breakbeat

Flittie's single sound of mind made it on the last Bandcamp Friday roundup from Peace Portal as well, and for good reason. This has got to be objectively among the best releases from an independent West Coast artist this year. Distilling her penchant for video game soundtracks with modern pop sensibilities, Flittie puts forth a flawlessly expressive batch of beautiful anthems for nostalgic, tender hearts.

VA001 [PERP] (L.A.)

Hard Techno / Experimental

Brutalist techno constructed from the dilapidated urban infrastructure reclaimed by L.A.'s DIY underground. Eleven heavy handed and progressive tools for dismantling dysfunctional foundations in dance music. Gritty, pulsating, and pissed, each track is it's own force to be reckoned with.

V/A - Renegade Science Vol. 2 [254 Science & Research] (Portland)

Juke / Jungle / Footwork / Drum and Bass / Breaks

254 Science & Research returns with the second successful report on their aural formulations. Assembled here is an all-star demolition squad, crumbling concrete beneath the staggering mass of uncompromising sonic subversion.

All profits donated to The People's Store in Portland, Oregon to provide necessities, harm reduction, and resources to our unhoused community members.

Local Analyst - Raining Glass [SubSensory Recordings] (Portland)

Techno / Deep Techno / Hypnotic

Carefully calculated experiments in form and function, Raining Glass is Portland-based Local Analyst at his most focused. Bridled four-on-the-floor abductions, throbbing aboard coarse vehicular rhythms. Practical tracks for warp speed transportation.

Ross Lowder - Snake Eyes [Ommaya Records] (Seattle)

Club / Breaks / Bass / Techno

Ear candy for new age club kids, Ross Lowder's Snake Eyes emerges like extrusive igneous from beneath seismic surfaces. Fluid in it's undercurrent, yet honed with intentional precision, Lowder presents four soundsystem weapons deployed against standard protocol. True to Ommaya Records form,
