About
Named after the border crossing between Blaine, Washington and British Columbia where, due to treaty, the border remains honorarily open in perpetuity, Peace Portal is first and foremost an auditory gateway into the sonic landscape of the Pacific Northwest and West Coast.
Born out of KZAX - a low power FM radio station that is a branch of nonprofit art gallery and all ages music venue Make.Shift, home to over 20 art studios and rehearsal spaces and artists’ studios in Bellingham, Washington, near the U.S.-Canadian border. The ethos of regionally focusing on independent art and music set forth by this organization continues to heavily influence Peace Portal’s operations.
Over 10 years and 120 episodes, Peace Portal has grown into an outlet for underground dance music through it's broadcasts, events, publications, and record label.
Operated by Feu du Camp, Peace Portal is currently broadcasting on Samewave Radio in Portland, Oregon.

Land Acknowledgment:
Peace Portal acknowledges that it presently operates on the traditional unceded lands of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla people, as well as many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. Peace Portal also began on the land Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Lhaq’temish (Lummi Nation), and the Nooksack Tribe.
We recognize that the PNW and West coast is home to many diverse Native peoples who continue to reside here. We acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, and future—and are grateful for their ongoing, vibrant presence and stewardship. We also acknowledge the systemic policies of genocide, relocation, and assimilation that still impact many Indigenous people today. As settlers and guests on these lands, we respect the work of Indigenous leaders and communities, and pledge to make ongoing efforts recognize their knowledge, creativity, and resilience.
